News Release: Segasist will release its Profero Contouring Suite
in January 2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 20, 2011 (Toronto, ON) – Segasist Technologies,
a Canadian software company developing automated image contouring
tools for medical applications, announced today that it will release
its Profero
Contouring Suite in January 2012.
Segasist Profero is an advanced auto-contouring suite that provides
a comprehensive set of functionalities for contouring any medical
image. It complies with DICOM and DICOM-RT standards, gives the
user the flexibility of accessing image data on the PACS servers,
provides diverse standard visualization and editing tools, and last
but not least, offers unrivaled new capabilities such as computational
consensus and real-time multi-contouring per slice.
“2012 will be the year that Profero changes the way contouring
in medical imaging is done” says Hamid Tizhoosh, the company’s
CEO, “it is the revolution that we have promised from day
one when we started Segasist”.
The auto-contouring functionalities of Profero emerge from its
unique segmentation engine that learns from clinicians’ past
markings to delineate organs and lesions in a fast and accurate
fashion. Among others, the suite offers semi- and fully automated
segmentation, can detect tissue types, builds consensus contours
based on stored information, facilitates batch processing, and opens
the horizon for missing but urgently needed quality assurance procedures
to overcome the inter-observer variability.
“In order to meet the different needs of a variety of clinical
settings,” adds Tizhoosh, “the Profero suite will come
in different configurations; Formo
to enable next-generation contouring based on learning from clinicians,
Insignio
to additionally detect tissue types, Reconcillio
to provide unrivaled computational consensus building, and finally,
the entire suite, Profero,
to offer a comprehensive package of all features and functionalities.”
The Profero Contouring Suite, and its various configurations,
will be available in January 2012.
